The board would like to announce that the date for our annual Highland Forest Neighborhood Yard Sale is set for September 22, 2018, starting at 8am. The ending time is up to each participant.

In the event of inclement weather, the Yard Sale will be moved to September 29, 2018.

The 4th of July Celebration was a great success due to the efforts of several people. The HFLA Board of Directors wishes to thank all those who helped make the day fun and successful. A special shout out goes to the City of Varnell, the Varnell Police Department, the Varnell Fire Department, Trinity Garbage Disposal (who provided a dumpster without charging us), and Lee Smith who handled the parking as well as many behind scenes issues. Thank you all so much!

fireworksThe Highland Forest Landowners Association Board is excited to announcement that the City of Varnell will be partnering with Highland Forest for our 2018 Fireworks Show! We are pleased to invite the community out to celebrate Independence Day with us!

The Fireworks Show will begin approximately 10-15 minutes after sunset, and will take place at the Highland Forest park area. The City of Varnell will be providing traffic control around the common area for this event.

Be sure to bring a chair, blanket, etc to enjoy the show! No outside fireworks.

In the event of imclement weather, the fireworks show will be moved to July 4th, same time.

-- Events Schedule for Tuesday, July 3rd -- Volunteers are needed for the kids' activities. Contact Katrina at 423-618-9750.

10:00am Kids Bike Parade - We will meet at the corner of Arbor and Honeysuckle to decorate our bikes, scooters, wagons, etc! Wear your favorite patriotic outfit over your swimsuit! The Varnell Fire Department will escort us to the park/commons area at 10:30am.

11:00am Pool Opens - Slides will be opened for the kids outside on the grassy area around the pool. Also, new for this year - Battle Ball! The slide and battle ball will be up all day! We will have snow cones, hotdogs, cotton candy and pool games from 11am -1pm!

fireworksThe HFLA Neighborhood Independence Day fireworks are scheduled for July 3rd, 2018. They will begin approximately 10-15 minutes after sunset.

Bring your lawnchairs, your blankets, etc. and join us at the commons area to celebrate!

No outside fireworks.

It’s springtime in Highland forest ~ a beautiful place to live!

Neighbors, the May 19th "Clean Up Day" in the common areas has been postponed due to the weather forecast, however, the Board respectfully asks for your help at your own residence, as weather permits, in the following ways:

  • Remove unsightly debris.
  • Avoid mowing clippings on to the street.
  • Move boats, RV’s, etc. to the back (preferably) or side of your home.

The Board wants to encourage everyone to keep our neighborhood clean for your family, our neighbors, and guest. The Board greatly appreciates your consideration in doing this. We trust you will have a great summer!!!

The HFLA pool opens for the summer on Friday May 25th at 3pm!
The board will be grilling hot dogs at 6pm. Food and drinks provided!

Friends and neighbors: Let’s Beautify our neighborhood! Please join us for SPRING CLEAN UP DAY on Saturday, May 19th, from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Hot dogs, chips, and drinks will be provided.

Things to bring:

  • old cloths and towels
  • clippers
  • rakes
  • gloves
  • brooms

Work areas include:

  • Clean up around Lake
  • Tennis Courts
  • Pool Area shrubs
  • Pavilion
  • Gazebo
  • Playhouse
  • Check Playground / picnic areas for repair
