Praise and Play Preschool at Varnell United Methodist Church still has openings! Openings are in the 2, 3, and 4 year old preschool classes. Praise and Play also has a Mother’s Morning Out class for 1 year olds that meets either 1 or 2 mornings a week.

Halloween is Wednesday, October 31! There will be tiny ghouls and goblins, or ninjas and princesses, roaming the neighborhood that evening in search of of candy, candy, candy! Drive slowly and watch for pedestrians.

Trick or treaters, be safe and consider wearing reflective clothing and carrying flashlights.

The date for our annual Highland Forest Neighborhood Yard Sale is set for September 22, 2018, starting at 8am. The ending time is up to each participant.

In the event of inclement weather, the Yard Sale will be moved to September 29, 2018.

The Whitfield-Murray Historical Society also collects items year-round for their rummage & Christmas sales.

Summer has flown by and its already time for students and teachers to return to school for the 2018 - 2019 school year. For Whitfield County Schools, the school year begins on August 8th. Be extra vigilant for children waiting for their bus, stop for all school buses and stop signs, and obey all speed limits. Remind your teenage drivers to do the same, and give themselves plenty of time to arrive at school safely. We wish everyone a great school year!

Beginning on August 7th, the pool hours will change for the remainder of the season, due to school starting. Labor Day is the last day the pool will be open for the season.
