We have had input from residents for greater understanding and more frequent updates of the Highland Forest financials. To respond to these requests, the HFLA Treasurer will conduct in-person, mid-year financial update meetings in July. The sessions will take place at the Community Center and are planned as follows:

First Session: Thursday July 15th, 6:30 - 8:30PM

Or, Second Session: Saturday July 24th, 10am - Noon

The agenda is as follows:

  1. Overview of QuickBooks Online and how it's used by the association and our bookkeeper. Task list of responsibilities of Treasurer and Bookkeeper. Every resident has different financial expertise and without this background, just a written report may be confusing, leaving unanswered questions.
  2. Summary of 2020 actual vs budget and the 2021 budget
  3. Give a mid-year financial update just like is given at the monthly board meeting. That includes a copy of the current balance sheet, budget vs actual expense report, and a past due accounts update. Plus, updates on any pending issues: audit, follow-up communications on past due accounts, etc.
  4. Remainder of session open for questions and answer discussions from residents in attendance.

Then as a follow-up for those not attending, we will issue a summary mid-year financial update in the August newsletter.
